Twilight Series Obsession

Though I resisted the Twilight Series (mostly because I thought it was a "teenage" thing to do), I finally gave in...and I LOVE IT!! It all started when Chad asked me if I would be interested in renting the Twilight movie. I said "Ok" lets see what this is all about. I thought the movie was good and had heard that the books were better so I began reading and after the second and third book, Chad asked me "When can Violet and I have you back?" Yes, I would stay up really late every night to get through the books. Tonight I am going with my friend Laura from work to see Twilight in the theater. I am also looking forward to seeing New Moon on Saturday with a bunch of friends from my church. PS I am a Team Edward fan all the way!

Cousin Convention in Dupont!

This is Violet, I decided that I would report on my experience of the Cousin Convention in Dupont, WA. Here we are looking sharp for church.

Grampa Tobler loves to read us books.

Here we all are at the University of Washington, look at all the pretty leaves it looks a lot like fall here!
We took lots of beautiful walks and had great conversation on the way, if you noticed Greta and I are not in the picture, we are sleeping beauties in our joggers.

Thanks to Greta, I was able to dress up like a lion everyday for our walks, no this is not my Halloween costume, don't I look cute?

Charlie & Greta had the best toys, I love this old fisher price cow it has no batteries, rolls like a charm and makes a MOOO sound!

Gramma showed us all the really cool houses on the neighborhood, I think this one might be haunted!

Thanks to Greta, I got to sport this really posh coat!

Ok, so here Charile & I decided that we wanted to get into Greta's crib with her. Notice the slide with the ladder, Charlie manged to help me up in there. But then I couldn't get out so I started to cry really loud. Mommy came to save me and she started to laugh.

Gramma knows that I love technology, and I am always happy and willing to help in any way possible.

Doesn't Seattle look pretty?

Here I am saying one of my favorite word "Flower" look at the pretty flower mommy got me!

Charlie and I had a fun time together, he always made sure that we were equals notice he has a leaf in his hand.

Grampa let us jump on the bed together, that was lots of fun!

Joseph even visited us, we had such a good time together!

We celebrated Charlie's 3rd Birthday, it was so much fun! Gramma made the coolest dinosaur cake.

Here is a picture of Mt. Rainer from the plane, we were able to see it several times during our visit. We also had quite a few sunny days in Seattle which is pretty rare I guess.
All I know is that I had so much fun with my cousin's I can't wait til the next convention!

Miguel & Violet having fun in the car..
Violet with her "I heart T bow" (With a gator bow) onesie
Violet had a good time at the Ramsey's
Miguel & I at the game UF vs. Arkansas it was a very close game!
Here is T Bow pumping up the crowd...
Final score 23-20, and yes Miguel and I did end up on this Jumbo-tron!
What an AWESOME weekend! We were also able to go to Gator Growl which was a lot of fun, a little long for my taste but I enjoyed watching Dana Carvey and the Jabbawockeez preform. I love Gainsville and I love the GATORS!

Pump it up!

Violet's friend Melina turned 5 today and invited her to a Pump it up party! Here we are at the top of the big slide...Notice that I am getting a work out myself by the sweat under my arm!

She has no fear she climbed all the way up to the top, and would have gone down the slide by herself if I would have let her. (By the way at our park near home there is a very steep slide on the big kid play ground that she climbs up it by herself and goes down the slide all by herself. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but Chad says that it's nothing new!)

Lot's of little friends to have fun with!
She went to bed tonight with no problem at all :).

The Big Easy

We had a fun and wet weekend in NO with Joseph...

We walked around a cemetery

From a distance these guys looked like BYU players..I went running after them for a picture to only find out they were a high school team.

The Famous Cafe Du Monde the beignet was heavenly..

Surrounded by beautiful plantation style homes

Our horse and buggy tour was a lot of fun.

The Famous Jackson Square with the St. Louis Cathedral the oldest cathedral in the US.

Ahh the food, we pretty much had a culinary tour of NO with jambalaya, muffuletta (picture above), fried crawfish and gumbo.
Bourbon Street was very interesting...we were able to listen to a great jazz band and Joseph convinced me to do the Soulja Boy outside of a club.

Here we are with Joseph's parents at the tail gate party for the BYU vs. Tulan game. The Mills were so nice to let us stay with them in Baton Rouge and treated us to a delicious dinner in the French Quarter. Thanks again!

Go Cougars!!

How could there not be a jazz band playing around the stadium?

Joseph and Chad having fun in the Superdome.

We were able to stand right next to the field and watch the action up close. One of my young women said that she saw us on ESPN cheering for the Cougars! At the end of the 49-3 game we were able to high five all of the team..I think Chad was truly in heaven!

Riding gangster and celebrating after the game!

We really had a great time, and want to THANK Joseph for showing us around and Bro. and Sister Mills for allowing us to stay in their home. It was fun to explore the town that my parent's honeymooned at 30 years ago. We loved NOLA !

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Chad spent a fun day with Violet at Epcot. Since Chad's & Violet's admission was free (because it was his birthday), they had fun running around Epcot for the day. Violet enjoyed the Finding Nemo ride. Chad said that Violet really had a fun time watching everyone around her. I was so happy that they had a wonderful day...sad that I missed it.

Family Pictures

I really wanted us to get some family pictures when Violet turned one. As you can tell these pictures were taken before Chad gave her a haircut! Here they are, Nathaly Blalock took our pictures to see more of her work go to surinaphotography.blogspot.com. We really had a fun time and are happy with the photos.
Sorry there are so many but I had a hard time picking just a few.

It's a Bird, No it's a Plane...WRONG it's a Blimp!

On our way to church one morning we were surprised to see a Blimp fly over our house...I just had to run in and get the camera!

A happy 4th...

American and proud!

We had a great weekend with family this fourth. We went over to Tia Lilly and Tio Rico's house for a pool party. Violet loved waving the American Flag, and she enjoyed the fireworks she didn't even cry with all of the BOOM noise! On a side note...one afternoon Violet grabbed my cell phone and flipped up the screen to begin what looks like "texting." I don't know where she learned it, I'm not much of a texter but maybe she picked it up from one of the young women? There are several games on the phone and when she is really fussing when we are out I let her "play" one of the games. She also knows how to answer the phone and say "hola!"

AAHHH Chad Cuts Violet's hair...

Before...

After

I arrived home from work and saw that my little daughter's hair had been cut. Chad had been threaten for weeks that he was going to cut it because he felt her hair looked to "shabby." I am a little disappointed because I want her to grow her hair out. I know that it's just hair and that it will grow out. I guess the shock is starting to go away and she does not look that bad.

Happy Father's Day

To a wonderful Husband and Father,

Thank you for all the support and help you give me in caring for our little Violet. We both want you to know how much we love you! XOXOXO

Chad's brother Jeff came down to hang out with Chad. They had fun buying guns, running the 192 causeway, grilling burgers, and jamming on the guitars. My friend Jessica had a nice pool party/house warming and we all enjoyed swimming in the pool. Violet had fun seeing her Uncle Jeff, and she hopes that he will forgive her for "baptizing" him at church.

Beach Week

Abuelo & Abuela

with Kayden & Jaimi

We had a fun time again this year at my parents timeshare. Violet had no fear of the ocean, she would run into the waves and she loved the pool. I love going back there to see my long time friends every year. I have been going to this place with my family since I was 5 so I have lots of happy memories of swimming, swimming and more swimming.

Flowers and a Layoff..

So here are the pretty flower's that Chad delivered to my work place the day after Violet's birthday. He never sends/brings me flowers to work so I was really surprised. They were from Chad and Violet as a thank you for being a good mommy and for a fun year. As he was leaving my workplace he received a call on his beeper and he knew right then that it was not good news. He was asked to meet with the big boss in another building and after 5 years he was laid off from his job (so were 100+ people that day). We were all very shocked. So for 2 weeks now Chad has been applying to several jobs in the area. I have spoken to my boss and will be able to work full time when his severance is up (Which I am so great full for, I love my LCCM family). Violet is having fun, she enjoys being with both of her parents. I on the other hand have been shook up by this, I'm one of those people that does not really like change. So we are trying to figure things out and plan to do what's best for our family. We have been praying a lot in hopes that he will be employed soon.

Our house is painted!

So finally our house got painted, here is the before and after pictures. We liked the original colors of the house but we wanted the door to pop, so I went with a rustic red look. We are very happy with the paint job, and now our house is protected. During tropical storm fay we had some water come in our room and Violet's room so at least now we know we are sealed up for the summer storms.
Our painter was James Brooks, if you want his info let me know. He did a great job and was the best price.

I'm One!

Violet started walking about 2 weeks before her birthday. She loves banana's, kiwi, watermelon, yogurt, beans, potatoes and ice cream. She is still trying to figure out the sippy cup. She can say Mama, Papa, bye-bye, yeah. She claps, likes to play ball, loves to throw and give kisses. She knows how to unravel toilet paper, how to get into her wipes containers and diaper rash containers. She likes looking and reading her books. She loves pushing her "cars" around and playing with her toys. When she really wants something she will not stop until she gets it. She laughs when I tell her "no". She still loves watching Baby Einstein and now watches it in all of our car rides. At her latest appointment she is 16 lbs 9 oz's, 29 1/2 inches long, 45.8 cm head circumference she is in the 55 percentile. We sure love our little girl and can't believe how fast the time has gone.
My mother made the dress that Violet is wearing, Thank you Abuela!
